PHELPS PARK

15.78 acres

This neighborhood park is situated in the west central section of Teaneck. Access to the park may be made by car from River Road, the western boundary of the park. Part of the eastern border of the park, Wilson Avenue provides pedestrian access. The park may also be reached on foot from the end of Catalpa Avenue to the south. Phelps Park is a neighborhood park adjacent to Fairleigh Dickinson University, and is utilized extensively by FDU students and people living in the west-central neighborhood in Teaneck. Facilities include: an above ground swimming pool, a children's wading pool, sets of tot swings, adult swings, horse swings a climbing structure, see-saws, a sandbox, two ballfields for hardball, little league baseball and softball, four tennis courts, 15 permanent picnic tables with charcoal burners, one basketball court and a volleyball court.
