Question: What proposals do you have for improving the appearance of all the business areas in town?
Answer: Where space permits (Cedar Lane and The Plaza) pedestrian malls can be built in the center of the street, requiring parking in lots but permitting four lanes of through traffic. These inexpensive malls should have trees, grass, flowers, benches, tables and covered areas for inclement weather. A small bus can be used to shuttle shoppers to and from stores and parking areas. All business areas should have more parking, trees, flowers, directory signs and improved lighting.
Question: What would you consider essential for an integrated program for park development?
Answer: a) Broaden appeal and use of parks to all groups by providing programs for adults, nature and bicycle trails, boating, innovative equipment for playgrounds, more picnic tables, chess - checker tables. b) Expand structure of Parks Advisory Comm. to represent all areas and users of parks. c) Garden Club and others should be encouraged to help improve the appearance of parks. d) Residents should receive a map and directory showing location, facilities and hours of use and periodic reports of special events.
