Lloyd E Kennedy was born on February 26, 1925 to Edward and Lillian Kennedy in New Jersey. He was one of three children; Albert, Lloyd, and Ann. He went to Teaneck High and took part in the school's many clubs such as Kamera Klub and Active Atoms (Chemistry+ consumerism club), but also sports like wrestling and track.  Lloyd graduated Teaneck High School, class of '43. He went on to Radio Technical School in NYC right after with the plan of being an engineer.

Lloyd decided to enlist on July 20th, 1943. Lloyd channeled his love for radio when he decided to join the Air Force. Initially Lloyd was assigned to Sioux Falls SD. for radio operator-mechanic training. His role on his Flying Fortress was the plane's radio operator. In January 1945, the now Corporal Kennedy was sent to England to be stationed at Eye English Air Base in Suffolk. He was assigned to the 848 Squadron, 490th Bomb Group, 8th Air Force.

The now 20 year old Sergeant was flying his sixteenth mission when he died. On May 17th, 1945 enroute to Ruhland, Germany, a pilot in formation lost control of his plane and collided into another. The two planes immediately disintegrated and only one man survived of the crews. He was interred in Locust Hill Cemetery in Dover, NJ.
